About Stroke and Education Society

Welcome to the Stroke and Education Society, Lucknow. We are a government-registered society, officially formed on July 22, 2022. Our core mission is to empower the community and medical professionals in Lucknow and beyond through education and awareness about stroke. We believe that by increasing knowledge, we can improve prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation outcomes for stroke survivors. Our work focuses on creating a robust network of experts and a well-informed public, ensuring that stroke care in our region is both advanced and accessible.

Stroke is a major cause of global disability and mortality, resulting from the sudden interruption of blood flow to the brain. Its effects go beyond the individual and impact society as a whole. To reduce this burden, the society conducts comprehensive education programs for the public, healthcare practitioners, and other personnel. These programs include conferences, seminars, Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs, and awareness campaigns that focus on stroke management, rehabilitation, and prevention. Education is a powerful tool for preventing not only stroke but many other medical conditions as well. We aim to educate the public on recognizing early signs of a stroke and the importance of seeking immediate medical attention to improve the chances of timely intervention.

Since our inception, the society has been actively involved in a wide range of initiatives aimed at achieving our mission and vision. Our recent and past activities include:

• Indian National Stroke Conference, 2025: We had the honor of hosting the 18th annual meeting of the Indian Stroke Association, a landmark event that brought together top experts to discuss the latest advancements in stroke care. The conference program outlines were shared with attendees, and members were encouraged to promote student participation in abstracts, posters, and quizzes. Financial responsibilities for hosting the event included covering hospitality and travel expenses for ISA office bearers and speakers, as well as allocating a percentage of registration fees and surplus funds to the ISA.
• Stroke Awareness Programs: We launch comprehensive awareness campaigns on various media platforms to educate the public on stroke symptoms, risk factors, and preventive measures. These campaigns can also impart crucial information about risk factors like hypertension, smoking, poor diet, and physical inactivity in communities and schools.
• Continuing Medical Education (CME): We organize CME programs to ensure widespread dissemination of vital stroke-related information. We also develop educational programs for diverse age groups, including school-based initiatives and community workshops.
• Awards and Recognition: The society has distributed awards to Stroke Nurses and Physiotherapists for their exceptional service.
• Stroke Quiz for Neurology Residents: We have hosted a quiz for neurology residents, and members have been asked to promote student participation in quizzes for INSC 2025.
• Support Services: We provide a range of support services for stroke survivors and their caregivers, which includes access to rehabilitation programs, peer support groups, and counseling.
• Collaboration and Partnerships: We form strategic alliances with healthcare institutions, government bodies, and non-profit organizations to amplify the effectiveness of our initiatives. We also encourage members to engage with government doctors, NGOs, and corporations for contributions and participation in events like the INSC 2025.
